  My Secret Garden

In a corner of our back yard, a bat house hangs on the side of a  shed.  I don’t know if any bats use it.  The shed is on one side of an area I am planning to turn into my “secret garden.”  The area will be lush with blooming shrubs, ferns, bulbs, and seasonal bedding plants.  I have three clay “turpentine pots” I’m going to hang on the wooden fence.  So much easier said than done.

A small bench and perhaps a chair or two will stand on pavers.  Of course, there will be a bird bath and perhaps some wind chimes.  It will be the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea, read a book, or simply sit quietly, listening to the birds, and watching the squirrels romp up and down the oak tree and along the top of the fence. I’ll keep you posted as the project progresses.

Oh, as an afterthought – I think I’d like tiki torches to light in the evening.  They’d add ambiance and, fueled with a repellant, they’d keep those pesky mosquitoes away.

                            Until we meet again,
